French Embassy says travel to, residence in Tokyo safe

The French Embassy in Tokyo has said travel to and residence in Tokyo poses no danger to human health, according to a statement posted on its website.

In the statement, however, the embassy advised French nationals to refrain from traveling to Miyagi, Fukushima, Ibaraki and Tochigi prefectures, saying the situation at the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant, which has been crippled since the devastating March 11 earthquake and tsunami, remains unstable.
